I am a Free Spirit, because I do things my way. I always tell my family: “It wouldn’t have been my choice!”. I raised my children to be the same way, live their life their way…

I find reading out loud especially to children with ADHD and dislexia helps them focus and retain better. It also gives you a chance to connect with little ones. I love reading.

This year I am working on a cultural shift in our school by heading up 100 days/100 acts of kindness. This involves teachers, staff and students to identify when they or someone else performs an act of kindness towards another in our school. I;m using Create a Culture of Kindness in MS as a blue print for this. We start November 1 through April 15. My goal is to decrease bullying behaviors by changing the focus of the school to being kind to others as opposed to focusing just on the adverse behaviors. This is a first step in a several year process in changing school culture.

My back to school tip for parents make a great breakfast. Make a menu for your kids: back to school bacon, eager eggs, backpack biscuits, orange you glad to meet your teacher orange juice, mommy kisses milk, get to be bus grits. The kids will love it.

  5. Linda Rose says:

I ‘d like to win these books and teach youth ages 5-10 at a spiritual center. Also love winning!

I work as a teacher in an inner city school. We are at the epicenter of several gangs in our area. Trying to build a student and a productive citizen are my two of the toughest jobs I do! I live a good life as an example. . . I use any and every opportunity to teach the students to make better choices in their lives. Many of our kids end up in prison or dead due to poor choices and low self esteem. I do all that I can to build up these kids . . .I admit I need help! These books look great! I am sure they can be put to good use in my classroom!

  7. Karen Manning says:

We teach our students to be mindful of the use of their electronics in our group sessions and are always looking for user friendly material to explain this problem to our students. We would appreciate this package of materials that you are giving away to add on to our resourses.

Bullying doesn’t just start in Middle School or High School. It starts with our younger children. I believe our youngest boys and girls need help with problem solving. I have modified Myrna Shore’s ” I Can Problem Solve” to fit the needs of my students. Sometimes social and emotional
growth just happens. More often than not, it needs intervention. Giving young children strategies for coping, helps them deal with problems as they grow and mature. I use your books for young children all the time. Thanks for the useful publications
