Social emotional learning is too often neglected in education. Currently schools address bullying reactively when really, they need to educate proactively by including social emotional learning in Common Core. I wouldn’t call myself a free spirit but I would like to free the spirits of others by starting with children in elementary school.
I am a Free Spirit because I happily invest in your material so that I might be a better educator.

The way I’m committed to help people be happier, because I believe that when you commit to something, that’s the freest act of all: me deciding to do something, with all my heart and soul.
I am a free spirit working in schools with children aged birth to 21 years, and helping each student to reach their potential regardless of illness or disability. Each child is good at something and needs to learn and grow and discover what their talents and interests are. Free Spirit publishes the books I wish I could write to celebrate the ability and dignity of every unique individual. I appreciate the representation of children of various abilities and colors in the illustrations, so all kids know they are equal partners in our global society.

By being a free range librarian.
I am a go with the flow type of person. When things are out of my hands, I adjust to them and keep going.
I love to just be in the present, enjoying everything around me, taking stock of what is happening right at the moment! I love to point out to my children and my students the wonders that are happening around us at any moment. Many times, I will stop them in the hall and ask them to look outside or take a breath of the air! It really makes a difference when you can enjoy the simple pleasures!
My love for life!
I’m a free spirit when I am flexible in where the day takes me. I may plan to work with one student, but another more pressing need may arise! Flexibility allows me to be a free spirit!

I am a free spirit because, as a middle school counselor, I highly encourage free, creative thinking in my students. I do my best to encourage each of them to use their imagination, take their own path, and follow their heart. In turn, they inspire me to be more spontaneous, energetic, and free-thinking!
I am a free spirit that meets each child where they are at and help them to become a productive and happy young adult.
I am a free spirit as a parent! I love working with my children one on one in our home. The products available allow me to do so many things with my children – all in a fun way where they don’t realize they are learning!

I am trying to learn to be a free spirit by following a student’s lead in what they need emotionally, physically, spiritually and academically in our behavior class. I encourage them to share their concerns, fears, loves, feelings verbally and in writing. We enjoy talking about how we all have issues that we have to deal with and coming up with strategies to help us all be more successful at school and at home.

I’m a free spirit when I let the direction of my counseling sessions be determined by my elementary-aged students. When I first started, I’d really script my sessions to make sure that I was using my tools to help fix situations. Now I work to put the tools aside and let the students do the fixing with me as a guide by the side. It’s been a challenge, but my free spirit is working to “let it go!” Thanks for a fun reflection!
I’m a free spirit because I actively follow the passions and whims of learning as an adult.
I’m a free spirit because of my job. I am forever flitting about to address multiple issues at once, every day! I work with adolescent parents & their children in a school and child care setting. There is much to do. It keeps me young & free spirited!
I’m a free spirit in that I don’t follow the crowd but do what feels right to me! I have done that in my teaching, my personal life, and in my leadership of numerous organizations!
I’m a free spirit because I’m spontaneous.
I’m a work in progress, but I know I care deeply about gifted children and put my effort into improving their lives and experiences.
I am a Free Spirit when I help our students learn to be the best they can be!
I’m a free spirit in that I don’t like all the traditional ways that we teach children such as filling in worksheets with required comments or the “right answer”. I love the stories and curriculum that Free Spirit Publishing offer because they aligned with my teaching philosophy of every student matters and we all learn differently.
I’m a free spirit as I try hard to follow the children’s lead in my preschool classroom and have our conversations be less teacher directed and more student lead. Also when choosing themes to study we try to include the children’s interests.
I’m working toward being more of a free spirit…as someone who likes to plan out vacations, I’ve given more control to my children about the route we take (developing map and navigation skills) and encouraging them to investigate and choose activities to do at our destination.
