At times lively, at times gentle, these sturdy-format board books include photographs and whimsical illustrations that capture the moments and moods of baby’s day. The text uses rhythm and rhyme to hold baby’s attention.

    I am a child counselor and counselor educator. I am also a school counselor and provide regular parent consultation for school-age children and often their younger siblings. I am surrounded by all ages of children and their caregivers. I’m all about developing early literacy and educating our educators about it! I would love to share these books with others!

    Hi! These books would be AWESOME for the library of a group home in Los Angeles for pregnant and parenting teen mothers! I am a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for a 14-year old young lady in foster care who recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Despite the circumstances, this young lady is doing her best to raise her child with the assistance of the group home that focuses on safe and healthy parenting practices. These books would be INCREDIBLE supplements to the curriculum utilized to teach these young ladies how to be the best moms they can be, many of which have not been mothered appropriately themselves. CHOOSE US!!

    I love Free Spirit books and so do the students I work with. I have used Free Spirit books for years with kids in school because I’m a social worker…they are the the best and have helped with learning disorders, social skills, and bullying just to name a few. Now that I am a mom of a one-year-old I look to Free Spirit to find wonderful books to read to him. This series is awesome from the pictures to the words! I would love to have them for my son to help him feel strong and happy and smile!

I would definitely share these books with my 1 year old who loves looking at books as she is very curious; i think she might be a bookworm like her mom. 😉 I would also use them with my kiddos in my work to help them and their parents have healthy and fun interactions.     Hi! I am a play therapist and these books will be dynamite tools for helping my young clients. Many are dealing with the myriad of emotions that come with a new baby sibling and these books will aid in recognizing baby’s needs and wants according to facial expressions.

    I work with infants in their homes, and it never ceases to amaze me how many of them have NO BOOKS available to them and how many parents aren’t aware that it’s possible and advisable to read to even very young babies. Of course I always take a bag of books with me, and these look as if they would be a perfect addition to my “Mary Poppins” bag!

Some of the students are teen age parents, and these books would be perfect for us to share with the students, who, in turn, would share with their own little ones. The diversity represented in the books is also represented by our students, and the illustrations capture such joyful and sweet images.

I would use the books to show parents examples of books to share with baby from birth and launch early reading practices to enhance parent- child interactions, encourage language development and visual pleasures .

    Am a non-technologically savvy grandmother and great-aunt, so I follow via e-mails, but have used Free Spirit publications for years and love all the ages covered. Teenagers would read what I wanted them to if I just “accidentally’ left books around so they could pick them up and little dudes and dudettes are enthralled with artwork and hearing books being read to them. Good job, Free Spirit!
