I’m a free spirit because I am fighting for a more positive view of aging than the prevalent negative stereotypes and I believe we need to teach kids more about the gifts of getting older (beyond adolescence!). Hard for me to believe, but in my 50’s I’ve changed careers to write, and I’ve become a blogger for the “cause.”

I just read your book, “too old for this, to young for that.” And I followed you on twitter and pintrest.
I am learning to be more of a free spirit….this summer I let my kids determine everything about our family trip…usually I *have* to have everything planned out, but it was a lot of fun to give up the control and just enjoy it all!

I have purchased several books/workbooks over the years that have been exceptional tools for me as a parent to teach valuable things to my kids. Not everything a child is taught is the responsibility of the school system and we as parents need the right tools to help us succeed in our efforts at home.

I like Free Spirit because of the kid-friendly books and materials! I am a free spirit because I love to teach kids and face new challenges each day with the children!
I have loved the materials through Free Spirit since becoming a social worker 8 years ago. I also love the materials now that I’m a mother of a 3 year old and 8 month old – lots of great books to read together that are fun and teach them something. Oh and the employees at Free Spirit are pretty great too – always helpful, kind, and patient. 🙂

What makes me a Free Spirit are the spirits I help to set free through the Teen Court program in our county, of which I am the coordinator. Spirits ages 6-17 committing a first-time misdemeanor offense have the option of being sanctioned by a jury of their peers, and upon completion, being set free with absolutely no juvenile record and a second chance, a free spirit to start again…and that makes my spirit soar!
