I’m a free spirit because I am fighting for a more positive view of aging than the prevalent negative stereotypes and I believe we need to teach kids more about the gifts of getting older (beyond adolescence!). Hard for me to believe, but in my 50’s I’ve changed careers to write, and I’ve become a blogger for the “cause.”

    I have purchased several books/workbooks over the years that have been exceptional tools for me as a parent to teach valuable things to my kids. Not everything a child is taught is the responsibility of the school system and we as parents need the right tools to help us succeed in our efforts at home.

  94. What makes me a Free Spirit are the spirits I help to set free through the Teen Court program in our county, of which I am the coordinator. Spirits ages 6-17 committing a first-time misdemeanor offense have the option of being sanctioned by a jury of their peers, and upon completion, being set free with absolutely no juvenile record and a second chance, a free spirit to start again…and that makes my spirit soar!
